Let every detail … whatever ..

February 11, 2016

“Let every detail in your lives – words, actions, whatever – be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.” Colossians 3:17 MSG

An old English Major spent the currency of his life telling men and women all over the world that we are to be the “physical..visible..audible expression of the glory of Jesus Christ”. Everything about your life:  every moment .. every encounter .. every intention .. and every pursuit is to be defined by Jesus. Why?  Contrary to the world you live in, Christ has set you free to live life openly as His representative. There is nothing in this world that can set you free .. free from the inside out .. free from anger, denial, shame, and self-centeredness .. that can compare to the life and love Jesus offers you. Nothing!! There are counterfeits and substitutes but they can never match “every detail” of your life transformed in Christ. What will your day hold? What plans? What relationships? Will you place all of it under the name of Jesus? And from it, do you find yourself giving thanks personally and intimately to the Father. Because that is the relationship Jesus forms in you. You are a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. Perfection is not required. Power is not earned. Prestige is not a reward. The life that Jesus offers to live through you today is a life where at the end of the day He is remembered .. and you find real rest from real work done “in the name of the Master, Jesus”. It’s not a religious life. It’s a real life found in every condition .. circumstance .. and situation. It’s the life that Jesus wants to live in you and through you today. And thankfulness…? It only takes a moment…

“And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:17 NLT

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
