“When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.” Colossians 2:13-15 MSG

When it comes to your life, God isn’t messing around. He’s seen all the places in your life battered by sin-storms. On the outside everything can look normal while battles rage within. God knows firsthand the places in your heart left lifeless and arid from sin-deserts. He’s familiar with those places because He’s walked upon every storm in your life and He knows what temptations exist in the desert. Storms and deserts are at His command. They obey His voice. His redeeming history records storms and deserts of every description ..  confronted by every condition of the human heart. Everything about your sin-dead life has been canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. The cross is where Jesus declares “something brand-new” has happened to your life. God is building a new road. All the tyrants that would rule over you are found baseless and powerless at this Cross. And rather than re-paving old history, the Lord has made a new way .. a new road .. hand-carved by His voice and name. This is the road you are invited to walk on .. travel on .. and trust for the journey ahead. There is only one road where “all” of your life is found alive .. forgiven .. and wiped clean. It is the CrossRoad. And on this Road the Lord will direct your steps and guide you through this day. It only takes a moment …

This is what God says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean, who carves a path through pounding waves. The God who summons horses and chariots and armies– they lie down and then can’t get up; they’re snuffed out like so many candles . “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.  It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.” Isaiah 43:18-19 MSG

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
