Set free …

“For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation the the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate.” Galatians 6:14 MSG

He spent most of his ministry starting and helping Jesus-followers form into God-shaped families(churches).. teaching them how to live their new lives .. their true lives .. in Christ. It wasn’t easy. Much of the time he was having to defend his style of ministry or lack of style. His credentials and experience were called into question repeatedly. His enemies wanted him silenced, discredited, or dead. He had met the risen Lord Jesus personally. He knew what his life’s mission was to be. And rather than hide in seclusion or blame anyone, he repeatedly staked his life on the claim of the Cross. The Apostle Paul’s life is no different than your life today. God called him to be faithful to his God-directed path. His job description was to spend his life sharing about the inexhaustible riches of the grace of Jesus Christ. It’s the same job description you have. When the Lord claimed Paul’s life .. he didn’t waver over what he wanted .. his plans .. his dreams. His whole heart .. soul .. mind .. and strength belonged to Jesus. He didn’t care who received credit. His goal was to aim toward the kingdom of God .. to proclaim Christ .. to serve anyone in any station of life .. regardless of social status .. or life background. He lived out of the all-sufficient supply of the grace of Jesus .. everyday .. and in every possible circumstance. That supply is the same for you today. Will you be faithful to Christ today? Faithful in your heart .. your mind .. and how you walk through this day? Sometimes it just helps to start by telling Him .. and then stop during the day and renew what you started. It only takes a moment ..

“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward – to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” Philippians 3:12-14 MSG

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
