Old way vs. New way … to live

March 3, 2016

“Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life – no longer at sin’s every beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get include in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection.” Romans 6:6-7 MSG

Your old life was nailed to a cross 2000 years ago. Everything wrong with you .. sin-miserably wrong — sin-stained — and sin-wearied was nailed to Christ’s cross. Everything about His resurrection was .. has been .. and is included in your life. Sin is real. It is real pressure that tries to convince you that you are in control and you will be able to change at any time. Jesus died your death on the cross so you could experience his life-saving resurrection. It is life-saving .. life-changing .. and life-long-living in His presence. Little by little .. step by step .. you begin to see all the parts of your life on the death side and the life side. The cross of Christ is where your freedom begins and it is His resurrection that frees you from carrying all those past sins and mistakes. You’re free to discover the next step God has for  your life .. free to live your life as Christ’s ambassador .. and free to enter into His rest  in your heart and soul. Your new identity is resurrection forged. You can’t lose it. What you can do today is walk in this new identity. And Christ Jesus will help you at every turn and twist. It only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
