Brand new — No Returns

March 11, 2016

“What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven – and the future starts now!” 1 Peter 1:3-4 MSG

What an amazing thing you’ve been given … a “brand-new life”. So much happens so fast .. life gets moving .. circumstances take hold .. emergencies and transitions  .. the unexpected .. unanticipated .. day to day plans and responsibilities .. drudgery ..  and on and on. There hardly seems time enough to stop and breathe in a “brand-new life”. The world races onward trying to drag you down to it’s level. But the Spirit of Jesus, Holy, is drawing you out into the open spaces of His Kingdom .. right now .. and soon-to-be. How? Resurrection … the indefatigable-unfathomable-inexhaustible power of God’s Son alive .. and now alive in you. Faith happened.  You trusted in something so incredible that can only be explained by stating you believe and have placed the forever value of your life on a crucified man named Jesus rising from the dead. That’s what happened. So, no matter what today holds, you’ve been given a “brand-new life” to live now. It comes shaped and filled with God’s power .. blazing power .. holy. You’re stamped with His fingerprints. The way you live can only be explained by the One who is Risen. Everything else gets burned off .. unholy .. over time .. beginning now. You’re alive because Christ is alive. It’s a life worth sharing .. worth giving away .. and worth becoming in Christ. Are you shape-able for today? It only takes a moment …

“As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 MSG

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
