When Jesus prayed ..it began

June 15, 2016

“..that they may have My joy made full in themselves .. Sanctify them in the truth .. As you have sent Me into the world, I have also sent them into the world .. that they may be one; even as you Father, are in Me and I in You, that they may be one with Us ..” John 17:13-21 NASB

It is the perfect prayer. It fits every time period in history. It fits every man or woman who follows Jesus day in and day out. Jesus didn’t pray vaguely for you. He prayed specifically that your whole life would be saturated in His life .. filled with joy .. shaped by His word .. and sent into the world you live in .. your family .. your work .. your friends. He prayed very specifically for your life. There is to be no mistaking the Jesus-prayer and self- effort. You can’t grab hold of joy like Jesus describes. It can only happen in you as He is living His life through you. He prayed specifically for you: There nothing hidden about what He is asking His Father to work in you. The world you live in will see the most intimate relationship on earth: Christ and the Father forming one life in you. Will you let Him? He specifically had you in mind today. It only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
