Can you let Him …?

July 5, 2106

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 NASB

What a relief:  To begin this day knowing that finishing-work is on God’s shoulders and not yours. That means you are free to abide in .. lean upon .. take hold of .. walk with .. rest in .. let go of .. and live all out .. for Christ. As a Montana Jesus-follower says: “It’s in Christ that you find out who you are and what you are living for.” Most of our struggles start by trying to fit Christ into our “living for” strategies. They may be good strategies .. just not originating in Christ. The Lord wants you to know His priority of your life. You’re not a project. You’re His treasured possession .. His messenger of grace .. and life .. and living trust. All three of those messages may be assaulted before the day is out .. but it’s not up to  you because Christ is perfecting His work in you .. finishing what He started .. shaping and moulding your life out of His finished work on a cross. The message of this world is: it is up to you to make your life what YOU want it to be. The message of Christ is: I will be your life. Much of our lives is driven by fear .. anxieties .. and the hole-hearted need to be accepted and loved. That’s the very place and space where Christ is working in your life. He’s cleaning out .. pouring in .. and shaping you in His grace. That way you really can begin to trust in His strength and not lean on yours. It only takes a moment …

“Alive, I’m Christ’s messenger, dead, I’m his bounty. Life versus even more life! I can’t lose.” Philippians 1:21 Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
