“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good;  his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 100:4-5 English Standard

God has opened a way of life through Jesus that creates thankfulness in areas of your heart and spirit once scarred by sins .. failures .. fears .. and repeated self efforts to make life work. Thankfulness is the fruit of grace and a gracious gift against cynicism .. resentment .. and lingering doubt. Thankfulness will set the course of your day if you begin with such a foundation. It will meet you along the day as you encounter interruptions .. irritations .. frustrations of all kinds. Thankfulness proceeds from a new heart blessed by God .. filled with His Son .. truly alive through His Spirit. You’ll find it like manna along your day. It’s more than enough and even flows when heartaches and headaches vie for your complete attention. Giving thanks .. means you stop and truly give thanks to the Lord for all that He is in your life .. all that He has done .. and the promise that He will not forsake you. Thankfulness doesn’t make sense in a crowded self-seeking .. self-protecting .. and self-serving world. It means holding your hands out open. It means stopping and giving thanks with a purpose. It means being thankful. It means you are turning everything over to the Lord .. in His care .. in His time .. in His name. It only takes a moment .. and then another moment .. and then another throughout the day. “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, and His lovingkindness last forever.” … It only takes a moment .. and something will change inside of you …

“O my soul, bless God. From head to toe, I’ll bless his holy name. O my soul, bless Goddon’t forget a single blessing! He forgives your sins—every one. He heals your diseases—every one. He redeems you from hell—saves your life! He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown. He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal. He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence.” Psalm 103:1-5 Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
