He never forgets …

August 1, 2016

“Remember these things, O Jacob. Take it seriously, Israel, that you’re my servant. I made you, shaped you: You’re my servant. O Israel, I’ll never forget you. I’ve wiped the slate of all your wrongdoings. There’s nothing left of your sins.Come back to me, come back. I’ve redeemed you. Israel 44:21-22 The Message

God made you .. shaped you .. and will never forget you. When He looks at you, He sees nothing that could make Him turn away from you or wish He could just forget who you are. Because at every moment of your life .. He sees the nail-scarred-handiwork of His Son over your name. So .. He can never forget you! All of your wrongdoings have been wiped clean .. All of them. And yet .. God knows how hard it is for you to believe that this is true: true about you .. true for you .. and true in you. Because when He looks at the backs of His hands He sees the the word TRUTH written over your name and He smiles because you belong to Him. He smiles because He knows from all eternity that is just one of His Son’s favorite names. Forget you? Never! He smiles because He knows “No one who hopes in Me ever regrets it” (Is. 44:23) And yet, the Lord gently and patiently reminds you to remember Him. Jesus knows firsthand how difficult it is to live openly in faith everyday. He knows all the pressures you face. He knows the struggles in your life. He knows every desire in your heart. Forget you? Never! Is your remembering-tank running on empty? God the Father .. Son .. and Spirit wants to refill .. renew .. replenish every room in your heart today. And Jesus …? He has an inexhaustible supply with your name on it. It only takes a moment …

“Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore? But even if mothers forget, I’d never forget you — never. Look, I’ve written your names on the backs of my hands. The walls you’re rebuilding are never out of my sight.” Isaiah 49:15-16 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
