Saying Yes to today …

September 21, 2016

“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.” Matthew 5:5 The Message

The real you has been formed out of nails .. a crown of thorns .. and a basin and a towel. The color red is prominent but it disappears into something so white it becomes light .. pure light. It’s so pure you cannot imagine it being in your life .. actually filling your life. Jesus describes your life in Him by saying “You’re blessed …”. He takes all the parts of you .. the lost parts .. broken parts .. ordinary .. overlooked .. and maybe even rejected parts and He stands you up on your feet in His presence. He doesn’t wait for you to stand up in your own strength because He knows you can’t do it on your own .. no matter how much you’ve tried. You’re invited to come with nothing … and receive everything .. no strings attached. When you realize who you really are in Christ .. your whole body will relax in His care. There’s healing .. forgiveness .. joy .. and love … all found in Jesus .. through Jesus .. and with Jesus. The world you live in may never change but you will. And because you really are changing in Christ .. the world you live in will begin to change too! It is true that this Jesus turns your world upside down and inside out. His very definitions of “blessed” shatter everything that this world offers by comparison. The very One who calls you blessed is the same One you bless by living for Him today. It may seem so simple but it takes all of His risen life in you .. a faith life .. trust .. to live like this today. It only takes a moment …

“And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating—to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time. Yes.” Jude 24-25 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
