Something for the road..?

September 25, 2106

“I look up to the mountains; does my strength come mountains? No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.” Psalm 121:1-2 The Message

Where will you look today for your strength? The temptation is always there to draw off of your own reserves before calling on the Lord’s help. The day starts off erratic .. interrupted .. time pressures .. the list of worries .. children’s schedules .. and often it is just the creeping bad habit of not spending a moment with the Lord .. in His Word .. and breathing a prayer out loud. The Israelites reminded each other on their yearly gathering of the Lord’s faithfulness. They sang on the road .. a good reminder that following Christ is about being connected to brothers and sisters. You were not meant to walk alone. The mountains are majestic but cannot change your heart .. fill you with hope .. or give you the strength and grace you need for today. So you turn to the One who not only guards you from evil .. but defeated evil on a cross. It’s only eight verses .. hardly a moment ..  but a complete meal for your day. It only takes a moment …

“God guards you from every evil, he guards your very life. He guards you when you leave and when you return., he guards you now, he guards you always.” Psalm 121:7-8

Ken Chester: Grace-Gripped is sent to Jesus followers on the road today.

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
