Everything for you …

September 28, 2016

“What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole.” 1 Peter 1:3-5 The Message

God wanted you long before you ever heard His voice or felt His call upon your life. There was and is only one way He could ever get you back. He showed His power … and that was not good enough. He wrote down some holy rules … and you broke them all. But He promised that He wasn’t giving up … you were worth everything to Him. So He “moved into the neighborhood” and Jesus began to draw you to himself. He didn’t force his life on you. It may have felt like it at first because you were so used to living on your own .. calling your own shots .. thinking you were in control .. and doing a pretty good job. There could be only one way to melt your heart .. a cross. It probably didn’t make much sense at first. You didn’t think you were that bad .. that wrong .. that broken .. and that stubborn. And He didn’t stop there. God wanted you to have a “brand-new life” … not just the old life cleaned up .. a new life .. a raised up life. It didn’t matter to God how long it took to break the hard shell around your heart. He wanted you. There hasn’t been one wasted day of your life in God’s hands. Jesus has given you everything of His life in exchange for everything in your life. That’s what your real worth looks like as you step into this day. Your life is a living invitation to see the indefatigable love and hilarious patience of your heavenly Father conspiring with His Son to win you back. As to the charge of conspiracy by God..? He pleads NOT GUILTY … WITH YOUR NAME ON IT. You’re infected with His grace … now live like it. It only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
