God’s Tattoos…

“Behold, I have inscribed your name on the palms of my hands; Your wall are continually before Me.” Isaiah 49:16 New American Standard

Long before Jesus ever arrived on the scene, God was at work. He was reminding His people .. so prone to run off .. give up on Him .. and run back when their lives were worn out with rebelling. By all accounts, the Lord should have given up or at least started over. And He did. He started by looking at your name written on the palms of His hands. He started by writing His life-words on your heart. And He started with everyone of any background by “wiping the slate of their sins forever wiped clean”. You cannot possible know how far God has to work in your life so that you will actually live like a “slate-clean-forever” person. That’s where Jesus comes in. He is the new lining on your heart. He is the reason all your sins have  been wiped clean .. the slate forgiven. Yahweh, the Lord of the universe .. over all creation .. delights in watching His kindness defeat the self-condemning voices and the you’ll-never-change voices. And the last voice you hear pronounces the slate of everything wrong in your life has been wiped clean. How could you not walk into this day without such a life-changing word of grace ever ready on your lips? Your name is written on God’s hands. There are so many but He sees each one so clearly .. so personally .. so forgiven and free in His Son. Now all you have to do is step out into this day. Yeah .. you’re not perfect. You’re just perfectly formed on God’s hands. And Jesus makes sure He sees your life through His.  It only takes a moment …

“This time I’m writing our the plan in them, carving it on the lining of their hearts. I’ll be their God, they’ll be my people. They won’t go to school to learn about me or buy a book called God in Five Easy Lessons. They’ll get to know me firsthand, the little and the big, the small and the great. They’ll get to know me by being kindly forgiven with the slate of their sins forever wiped clean” Hebrews Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
