You don’t really want to be in control .. do you?

June 28, 2017

“It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!” Romans 8:11 The Message

Jesus is the same yesterday .. today .. and forever. He’s not going to change. And His life  If  God raised Jesus .. His Son from the dead .. has moved into your life (faith) .. you experience the same life that Jesus experiences: life whole and complete with the Father. A lot of mistakes are cleaned up at this point.  You’re as alive as Christ is today. That sets up your whole day. That life is for every man and woman who opens their life for Jesus to move in. Jesus just can’t stay outside of your life. You can come to him all worn out .. beat up .. and even given up. The first thing He does is give you rest .. the deep rest of spirit .. the deep rest your body needs after all the scars and bruises of living apart from Christ. Life isn’t always in the gutter. You can actually be living a pretty good life but realize you are powerless without Christ. Who is invited to Him? He invites all. (Yes, God sorts out the mess) The only qualifier is you have to “Come”. He’s willing and waiting to make the exchange. You know at that moment that there is nothing fair about this trade. He’s giving you rest .. a heart and mind to learn .. and even his very secrets (His yoke). You aren’t weighted down. He doesn’t sugarcoat what He gives you: His burden is light. It’s an incredible offer today. A life united with Christ. Too busy easily becomes too burdened. His invitation holds .. It only takes a moment ..

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and over-burdened, and I will give you rest! Put on my yoke and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 JB Phillips

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
