.. for people like you ..

July 6, 2017

“Going through a long line of prophets, God has been addressing our ancestors in different ways for centuries. Recently he spoke to us directly through his Son. By his Son, God created the world in the beginning, and it will all belong to the Son at the end. This Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God’s nature. He holds everything together by what he says—powerful words!” Hebrews 1:1-3 The Message

Every detail of your life is found in this Son. He’s so familiar with your life that you are liable to not call on Him until you’re desperate. It is amazing at times how we treat this Son who holds our lives together.  And even then you can be angry because He didn’t stop “it” when He could have. Your life means so much to Jesus that he experienced every type of pain and  brokenness possible on this earth. That was the only way. If you really think about it .. you know it was the only way that He could remove every obstacle or accusation that He doesn’t care about you.  At this moment, He’s holding your life together. Everything about you is completely before Him. Of all the things that God could say about your life .. He chose to say it through His Son. If you really think about it .. you wouldn’t want it any other way. He’s spoken directly and helps personally. You mean that much to Him. Jesus hasn’t left you to figure life out on your own. He knows how hard it is to trust. He knows how fragile faith can feel. He knows what your life looks like with His Life inside. He knows where to help. When it came to your life, Jesus didn’t pause for one moment. If you really think about it .. you’re thankful. It only takes a moment ..

“It’s obvious, of course, that he didn’t go to all this trouble for angels. It was for people like us, children of Abraham. That’s why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people’s sins, he would have already experienced it all himself—all the pain, all the testing—and would be able to help where help was needed.” Hebrews 2:16-18

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
