“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17 The Message

Christ holds your life together. There is no one else in this world that can make this promise. He stands alone. His life is outside the rules of self-made. Everything that has ever existed came through Him .. so Christ is unique in knowing exactly how to hold your life together. He held a lepers life together by touching him. He held a bleeding woman’s life together by letting her touch Him. He held a few thousand lives together by blessing and breaking some bread and fish. He held Peter’s life together after he denied knowing Him by restoring him. He’ll hold your life together too. He reminds you every time you hold a piece of bread and a cup of wine. His life still holds lives together. Sometimes it can feel like a great distance between Jesus and you .. as if He’s not there .. but He is. Your life is marked as a Kingdom citizen. The old rules won’t hold you together any longer. And it hasn’t changed for over 2000 years. His Word stands through every season in your life.  We keep trying to hold our lives together and He keeps inviting us to let Him. It feels uncertain at first .. but then you realize how much your life has expanded in Christ. You don’t have to work it out. He’s already done that. Where do you start? You start with Jesus .. the One who’s holding you together and even at this moment reconciling all those unreconciled parts in you. It starts with Jesus .. and continues in Him. He’s never going to stop holding your life together.  Whether it’s your first start or fresh start …  it only takes a moment…

“For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.” Colossians 1:19-20 New American Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
