Fearless living …

August 28, 2017

Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.  Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,  I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:12-14 New American Standard

When Jesus gripped your life, He took hold of everything that was you: Your past with all its history .. your struggles,  flaws,  and dreams  .. and all the places in your life where you tried over and over to make life work. He did all that because Jesus knows you would never be free in your life without Him. His life is the foundation that not only “makes life worth living” .. but frees you to live all out for Jesus. The only thing that really matters in your life is whether Christ is holding your life together. If it’s anything else .. you are constantly having to recheck and repair all the small cracks that appear .. first within .. then on the outside. It’s exhausting to pursue a life that doesn’t have Christ as the focus. There is no better path to be walking upon than the one established by the Lord. His invitation is always open and inviting. He even asks you to walk alongside His life .. observing how He lived. It only takes a moment …

The steps of a man are established by the LordAnd He delights in his way.  When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.” Psalm 37:23-24 New American Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
