“He remembered to love us, a bonus to his dear family, Israel – indefatigable love. The whole earth comes to attention. Look – God’s work of salvation!” Psalm 98:3 The Message
You can never exhaust the love God has for you. It’s an un-defeatable love. The nail scars remind you that Jesus wore your defeat. In all the places in your life where you have ever felt defeated, the un-defeatable love of Christ surrounds you. It’s an unfailing love. He was called a failure. So, he knows what every failure feels like on the inside. He wore every failure that we have committed or experienced. God’s love for you never quits. He’s that good. He’s so good that we take him for granted everyday in countless moments. We assume that God will just love us by overlooking those small insignificant transgressions and little compromises that don’t hurt anyone. It’s our way of changing inexhaustible grace into excusable grace. He’s got the scars to show how wrong we were. We can be thankful that God the Father has never excused anything in our lives as trivial or acceptably flawed. Otherwise, that one excused flaw would mutate into an unbearable monster of shame .. rejection .. fear .. and imprisonment. Everything flawed about your life was laid upon this Galilean Rabbi. That’s why Jesus won’t give up on you for one second. He won’t quit your life. He won’t walk out on you. Indefatigable love never runs out. He’s not going to abandon you or leave the work he’s begun in you half-finished. Indefatigable love .. Inexhaustible grace .. Unfathomable generosity .. and Unbreakable promises drench your life today .. and will tomorrow .. and the tomorrows after that. Those aren’t words you make up or say to yourself as some wishful incantation. A crown of thorns fit an indefatigable king. Inexhaustibility was nailed to a cross. The power and reach of Christ’s death for you was and is simply unfathomable. An empty grave is the symbol of the unbreakable grip of His grace for you. The Lord Jesus Christ is the supply for everything in your life today. It only takes a moment …
“Thank God because he’s good, because his love never quits. … And so here I am, preaching and writing about things that are way over my head, the inexhaustible riches and generosity of Christ.” Psalm 118:1/Ephesians 3:8 The Message
